Mickey Guyton

Mickey Guyton is an American country music artist originally from Texas. In 2015, she released her debut single with Capitol Records “Better than You Left Me”. The song reached number 33 on the US Country Airplay chart and garnered a nomination from the Academy of Country Music Awards. Her song “Black Like Me” which speaks about her experiences as a Black woman, especially one in country music, was released in wake of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter Movement, resulting in her first ever nomination at the Grammy Awards. She is the first Black woman to be nominated in the Best Country Solo Performance category. Her highly anticipated debut album Remember Her Name was released in September 2021.
