The Show
Brooklyn resident Norah Jones didn’t have to travel far from home to film her episode of Live From the Artists Den. In front of 200 invited guests, she performed a stunning career-spanning set at the historic Green Building in Brooklyn’s Carroll Gardens neighborhood. The rough-hewn beauty of the former brass foundry was a spectacular backdrop for the 20-song retrospective, ranging from her breakthrough hit, “Don’t Know Why,” to her latest single, “Happy Pills,” before concluding with an encore that saw her and her band gathered around an old-time microphone, offering sweet harmonies to send a delighted audience into the night.

Norah Jones
One of the most critically-acclaimed musicians of the past decade, Norah Jones burst into the global spotlight in 2002 with her jazz and soul-inflected debut album, Come Away With Me. Winner of nine Grammy awards to date, the album cemented Jones’s status as one of the most talented vocalists of her generation. Since then, the Brooklyn-born, Texas-raised musician has drifted away from the “jazz singer” label, gradually moving toward a more pop-centric sound. Jones teamed up with producer Danger Mouse on her fifth studio release, Little Broken Hearts, which was released on May 1, 2012 and debuted at the number two spot on the Billboard Top 200. This was followed by Day Breaks in 2016 and Begin Again in 2019.
The Venue
Located a block away from the Gowanus Canal in the historic Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, the Green Building was built in 1889 and primarily functioned as a brass foundry until 1987. A large portion of the brass manufactured on-site was incorporated into Atlantic City’s gambling tables and casinos. Renovations highlight the building’s industrial past, exposing the building’s original raw brick walls and beautiful wood beam ceilings.
