The singer-songwriter offers a tour of the studio, which has lately served as the den of his producer, Dave Cobb. Joined by a pianist and three backup singers, East performs five songs from his new album, Maybe We Never Die, including the singles “Madelyn” and “Drugs” as well as “Lights On,” “Hood of My Car” and the title track — all in a stripped-back fashion that offers an even clearer sense of the R&B, pop, Americana and rock influences that come together in his music.

Alabama native Anderson East emerged on the Nashville country scene with his unique blend of soul, Americana, country, and R&B. After honing his skills as a studio engineer, session musician, and independent musician, he released his major label debut Delilah in 2015, which featured production work from the famed Nashville producer Dave Cobb. East released his third album in 2021, the disco and soul-influenced Maybe We Never Die.
